As you may have noticed its started snowing so it got us thinking about paper snowflakes. Well and other cool paper things like planets and how to actually make them. Few people out there not certain on the method.
So here it is a simple step by step guide by me and Reuben on how to make paper snowflakes.
What you need to make Paper Snowflakes
- Pair of Scissors
- Sheets of Paper
- A plate of something circular to draw around
- Pen
Step 1
Take a piece of paper and place your plate (or circular object) on it and draw around it..
Step 2
Cut out the circle. Then fold the circle in half, then fold it in half again and finally in half again. You should end up with a small triangle shaped piece of paper (like in the photos below)
Step 3
Now take your scissors and cut off the pointy end of the triangle (if you cut it in a little circle you will get a circle in the centre of your snowflake, or you can cut it to a point and you will get a star shape in the middle of your snowflake). Just play around.
Step 4
Now cut out some little triangle or circles out of each side of your little triangle. Now you should have a little triangle with no pointy end and several cuts out of both sides.
Step 5
Now cut some little triangles out of the end of your triangle and you will end up with a little folded triangle with smaller triangles cut out of all sides.
Step 6
Thats it. Just unfold your little triangle and you will have your lovely snowflake.
You can try other fold, other cuts and see where your imagination takes you. You can make snowflakes, planets, rockets and so much more.
Go have fun and let us know in the comments below what you make.
