Reuben loves Beamish the open air museum in Stanley, County Durham he loves going there with me and his mum and seeing all the histories (as he calls it). Everytime we go we see something different and over the year it has been a tough time for Beamish and the staff have really stepped up to make the experience safe and Covid Secure.
There have been trails to do and Reubs loves looking for the hidden items everything from teddy bears to green man faces and even a murder to solve. Sadly one of Reubens favourite things which is the trams were not able to run, but walking around the site gave us some good exercise, and carrying a 3 year old back to the entrance really worked my cardio 🙂
Davy Fish Shop – Beamish
Like most pre-schoolers Reuben loves his chips, although he prefers brocolli (honest), so no visit to Beamish would be complete without a visit to the famous Davy Fish Shop in the Pit Village. However if you go be prepared to queue, whilst we stood in the queue Reubs just went off making new friends (he misses nursery). But the queue is worth it as the chips are YUMMY!!!
Lockdown Tiers
As the regulations tightened Beamish was forced to close all indoor venues, though they were still allowing access via timed tickets so we still went. We still went and it was still amazing. Although abit on the cold side we loved it and this time it was Christmas and Christmas is awesome and at Beamish its so magical, with the lights and sounds of ye olde Christmas a trail finding the naughty elves it was huge fun.
Sadly now Beamish being in County Durham entered Tier 3 and as of today Lockdown and had to close completely and we are gonna miss it. We love the place and just can’t get enough of it. So (when it reopens) take a trip it will be worth your while
